Dear friends of Hope House,
Last night we heard about an ICE raid at the site of a neighboring ministry in town, and that one of our neighbors was taken away. At a time when peace and goodwill are being celebrated, many area families are worried and struggling. Please pray for our town's families to know God's peace and help. We at Hope House are so thankful to God for bringing us through all our 2025 markets and special outreaches without incidence in these regards. We ask your prayers for God's continued help in 2026.
In keeping with this season of peace and goodwill, we wanted to point to a video showing our center's history of commemorating our nation's birthday by celebrating with New Mainers, often thanks to teams from the Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston. See some pics at the bottom including our July 4th BBQ this year, and some of the teams from CBCGB and Fayette Baptist who helped this last year
We want to thank our on-site supervisors, Magnus & Shanena, who serve with us. We are also grateful to Fayette Baptist Church for continuing support and their team of helpers this last spring who assembled Mother's Day Gift Baskets and also made needed center repairs. Thanks also to Yarmouth First Baptist for their support and yearly Christmas gifts for moms. Thanks as well to Coats for Kids and Toys for Tots for their donations. We also want to thank Target in Auburn, Shaw's in Lewiston, and Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn for providing food for our free markets. Thanks to area neighbors for donating clothing and housegoods for our center's Free Family Thrift Store, and thank you to all who gave financial gifts to enable our work to continue. Special thanks to the many neighborhood volunteers who help run our markets and our center's assistance to struggling families.
Attached is a new recording by us of Jan's song "Where Peacemakers Tread", with a narrative by Bruce.. We hope it encourages you, as you seek to love God and neighbor, to build unlikely friendships across divides, just as Jesus did.
